The inspiring presentation  of the WHO NCD Team headquarters representative, Dr. Andreas Ullrich, was one of the highlights of the conference.
The dinner with participants in their native costumes and the presentation of the courageous Asian survivors were memorable moments for all.
The 7th CCI Europe Regional Conference, one of the largest meetings of the continent so far, was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 22 to 24 April 2016.
The very intense 3 days of presentations and discussions revolved on European Union projects, medical and new drugs development, practical presentations, European Standards of Care and Long-Term Follow-Up.

The “Daily Star”, showcased the story of Salma Choudhury, the Founder Chairperson of ASHIC (Foundation for Childhood Cancer).  Salma lost her son because of cancer, and since then, she and her husband, has been working to provide palliative care and treatment for other children in Bangladesh.

The Canadian government announced in Ottawa that they will continue supporting ‘The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer’, for $47.5 million annually. These are great news for the country’s cancer community and an endorsement to the collaborative model on the Strategy for Cancer Control.  Read More
Green light was given to launch the start of the Mapping Study on Pediatric Cancer in 12 countries of Latin America.
The ethics committee of the University of Chile approved the project that, in its first phase, will undertake a study of how the care of pediatric cancer is delivered, financed, and organized in strategic  countries in the region. Fundacion Nuestros Hijos in collaboration with CCI, UICC and  Sick Kids Hospital of Canada are spearheading this ground breaking initiative.
